Getting started
Get the basics in place before your first test.
Before you begin
Choose one person to own the setup and one staff lead to review it. Keep early testing in a private Discord server or a staff-only test area. You do not need to share an ER:LC server key to prepare your community.
- Write down your Discord server ID and the name of the community being configured.
- Decide which roles may manage settings, moderate members and host sessions.
- Choose private channels for staff discussion and action records.
- Agree on a timezone for schedules and staff reports.
Installing the bot
This draft does not include a verified Watchpost invite link. Use an invite published by the Watchpost team when one is available, and check the application name and requested permissions before authorizing it.
Only someone with the necessary Discord server permissions should install an app. Do not give another person your Discord login or bot token to complete setup.
Your first test
Once a feature has been released, test it with a staff account and an ordinary member account. Confirm both the allowed action and the denied action. Check that private output stays private and that any expected record appears in the correct channel.
Proposed commands in these docs are not registered commands. Their absence is expected until implementation and release.
