Staff shifts
A proposed way to keep duty time clear and easy to correct.
Shift tracking is not verified as implemented. Use this page as a specification for development and staff procedures.
A shift from start to finish
- Start: create a duty record for the staff member and capture the start time.
- Break: pause active time if breaks are supported; keep the original shift open.
- Resume: continue the same shift rather than creating a second record.
- End: close the record and show the total active time.
The intended rule is one open shift per member per Discord server. A repeated start should explain that a shift already exists, rather than silently doubling the time.
Missed clock-outs
Ask the member for the correct end time and a short explanation. A staff lead should review any adjustment. Keep the original values, corrected values, editor and reason together so a correction can be understood later.
Reading reports
Specify the reporting period and timezone whenever you share totals. Duty time alone does not describe the quality of someone's work. Use it alongside attendance, conduct and staff responsibilities.
Before this feature ships
- Repeated button presses must not create duplicate shifts.
- A restart must not lose an open shift.
- Members must not edit another person's time without permission.
- Breaks and shifts crossing midnight need consistent totals.
